The town is bordered by the sea in the South, beautiful mountains in the North, the Botriver lagoon and estuary to the East and the Palmiet River and lagoon to the West. The Sandown Bay beach, which has blue flag status, stretches on for kilometers. During peak season lifeguards ensure the safety of swimmers.
There are numerous walks and hiking trails. Stroll along a walkway from Sandown Bay beach to the Harbour Waterfront or take to the hiking trails that traverse the mountain and enjoy the fynbos and fabulous views of the town of Kleinmond and Sandown Bay. Venture a little further and another unique nature experience awaits you in the Palmiet Valley.
