Betty's Bay Property

Betty’s Bay is a well known and popular coastal village consisting of 3000 odd properties of which roughly 45% are vacant. This gives the buyer the choice of purchasing an already constructed house or the opportunity to invest in a vacant plot. Many bargains can still be found with plots selling from as little as R270 000. Although sales have recently slowed in Betty’s Bay, its proximity to Cape Town makes it a good long term investment.

Locality

Situated approximately 100 km from Cape Town in the Western Cape, sandwiched between majestic mountains and the sea is the unique and charming seaside village of Betty’s Bay. It is easily accessed from Gordons Bay along the magnificent Clarence Drive (R44) or via the N1 and Kleinmond in the east. Its neighbours include Pringle Bay, Cape Hangklip and Kleinmond.
Centrally situated it is a short 30 minute drive to the wine estates or to the “Whale Capital” Hermanus, 45 minutes to CT International Airport and just over one hour into the centre of Cape Town.

Attractions

There are two pristine beaches which are complemented by fresh unpolluted air and a number of small lagoons with clear, warm water where children can bathe in safety. Life savers are on duty during the season and the beaches are never crowded, even over Christmas.
At the start of the famous Whale Route, you can enjoy the overwhelming experience of watching these gentle giants from close by. Amongst the many places to visit are the renowned Harold Porter Botanical Gardens and Stoney Point the  home of one of three land based colonies of the endangered African Penguin. To the north and accessible from the Palmiet River Valley at Oudebosch is the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve. Established in 1998 the Kogelberg Reserve became the first Biosphere of Southern Africa and is often considered the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom.
Six licensed restaurants serve a variety of meals plus a coffee shop and delicatessen and bakery will satisfy the hunger pangs. Interesting finds can be made at the two art galleries and our local pottery and gift shops.

Activities

Surfing, kite surfing, white water rafting, paragliding, mountain biking, scuba diving and sand boarding for lovers of extreme sports can all be had in Betty’s Bay and surrounds. Close by is Gansbaai where a number of operators offer cage diving, see the great white up close!!
A notable variety of coastal and mountain hiking trails from easy to strenuous are available. The area is renowned for its birding with over 200 species documented. Shore angling is popular and there are 3 safe slipways which can accommodate small ski boats.
